Coffeehouse!

What a busy week!  The Poetry Coffeehouse was a great success.  The children were superb!  The artwork was beautiful!  Below are some photos from our day.  I also am sharing my poem.  Have a fabulous weekend!

Thanks again to Mrs. I for these photos!  Thank you to everyone who participated at the open mic!

Don’t Blink

Don’t blink, or you might miss

The love of learning every day
          The kindness shown
          The friendships made
          The independence growing
That moment they can do it ~ without your help (or mine)

Don’t blink, you might not notice~

They want a little space, but still need you
They need to try alone and even need to fall sometimes
They need to struggle to relish in their success.

While we weren’t looking  ~

They grew, and their pants became too short
They took responsibility on their own
          They included each other
          They were kind

While we weren’t looking ~ fourth grade is over...

In just one blink,
          180 days.

Chorus and Recorder Concert

What a hit! The children were amazing today! The singing and recorder playing was top notch!  Here are a few pictures and videos from the concert.   Thanks to Mrs. I. for sending in a few photos, too! If you have some pictures from the concert that you would like to have highlighted on the blog, please send them to Mrs. Merten.

Sports Day

Sports Day Selfie :)
What a day!  Thank you to the many parents and family members who volunteered for Sports Day!  We enjoyed a wonderful day.  The weather held off, and Mrs. Merten said we earned the "teamwork award" for our awesome sportsmanship and teamwork.
