Wow! What an awesome week we had! This week was largely spent on establishing our classroom community and learning routines. We read several books, created some class rules, and practiced working with one another. We even had a chance to use the chromebooks!

We read a lot of books about kindness, including Oliver Button is a Sissy by Tomie dePaola. Then we talked about how, when something is said, you can't "unsay" it. We illustrated this with tubes of toothpaste. Ask your child to share about this activity!

This year, the government has announced a program for fourth graders called "Every Kid in a Park". This initiative is to encourage fourth graders to visit the National Parks FREE OF CHARGE! Information about this program can be found here.
