Our Last Weeks of 2015

WOW!  It has been quite an eventful few weeks in fourth grade.  We have enjoyed special visitors, presentations, and lots of fun activities.

We wrapped up topics in all subject areas during the last few weeks. We took tests in Math, Science and Social Studies, and we finished TWO books (Little Dog, Lost and Stone Fox).

After vacation, we will continue to study the weather in Science.  We will move to Regions of the United States in Social Studies and in Math we will begin to learn about Fractions.  We will also begin a new interactive read aloud!  2016 will be fantastic!

Below are some pictures from the last week.

Here we are working on creating our videos to help others with math skills and with choosing reading books.

Mrs. Silvia from the Haffenreffer Museum returned (thank you PCC!) and taught us about the Inuit.  We learned about clothing, homes, games and other cultural activities.  We even danced!

Here we are in our snow goggles and with our holiday craft!

We participated in many writing activities, including "Card Workshop" and writing fiction stories. We are still working on publishing our fiction stories, and will finish right after vacation.

We celebrated finishing our IRA, Little Dog, Lost with Charades and Win, Lose or Draw.  We also had some fun snacks related to the book.

We had a visit from Tom at the Franklin Veterinary Clinic, too!  He talked about what it's like to be a Vet Tech, and also about responsible pet ownership.  This was a nice activity to coincide with finishing Little Dog, Lost!

Our Speeches were a success!
