Our Week In Review

This week was filled with fun!  We finished our unit on measurement and our assessments were AWESOME!  To wrap this Math unit up, we enjoyed the Measurement eXtreme Games!  The children had a chance to practice their measuring and converting skills through the events of the day!  We will extend our measurement unit to include concepts of time over the next week.
Here are some of our preparations for the games:

Below are some videos of our Opening Ceremonies, including the students rendition of God Bless America.

And our X-Games Cheer!

And the teachers raced!

We are getting close to the end of The One and Only Ivan! We are so excited to find out how this story ends up.  We have scheduled our Book Celebration "Ivan Day" for next Friday, April 15.  Students will receive a letter about this next week!  We are excited for this f unfilled day.

We are officially drafting our expert writing pieces.  We have planned our chapters and shared our thinking.  This should be finished drafting our writing next week, and will be publishing our pieces after vacation.

We will wrap up our Weather unit on this week, and will have our final Weather Assessment on Thursday.  Your child received a study guide early this week, and has the information needed to prepare in his/her weather folder. If your child needs information that isn't in the folder, please have him/her see Mrs. Merten on Monday or Tuesday next week.
