Our Week In Review

We jumped right back into learning after the long vacation!  We began learning the "low stress" division algorithm in math.  The children did an excellent job persevering through this new and challenging material.  We will continue to practice over the next few weeks.  Students should continue to practice their multiplication and division facts, in order to make this process easier for them.

Thank you to Mrs. Rontiris, who came to school this week to teach us all about Name Day!  We all learned how to write our names in Greek!

We were lucky enough to have a visit from WBZ channel 4 meteorologist, Pamela Gardner this week.  We learned a LOT about weather, especially storms.  Did you see us on TV this week?

Here we are researching different storms.

The children are really enjoying our fiction writing unit.  We are still in the planning stages, but we have talked a lot about ideas.  Check in with your child about his/her topic ideas.

We began reading our newest Interactive Read Aloud, Little Dog, Lost, by Marion Dane Bauer.  We are talking a lot about the writing style in this book, as we "read like writers and write like readers".  This is a story about a dog named Buddy and a boy named Mark.

Did you see the sky tonight?  I wonder what these clouds say about the weather!
