Our Week in Review

What a week! We began our week with our second week of knitting club. We are thankful for our volunteers from the Franklin Senior Center, who have volunteered to help our ladybugs learn to knit!

We began our newest science unit this week.  We will be studying types of energy, as well as sound and light waves.  Students will be conducting various experiments to help explore these topics.

We wrapped up our Interactive Read Aloud, The One and Only Ivan, with a celebration!  Ivan Day was filled with fun learning such as Art Stations, Ivan Math, graphing and Jungle Yoga.  All students in our class rated this book a 10, and some students have signed up to meet the author, Katherine Applegate. She will be at An Unlikely Story in Plainville on Wednesday.  Information can be found here.

We enjoyed our last visit from Mrs. Silvia from the Haffenreffer Museum at Brown University.  This was a great way to kick off our study of our final U.S. region, the Southwest.  We learned about the Hopi tribe.  We are grateful for our Kennedy PCC for funding this program.
