Our Week In Review

What a week!  We began our week with a math quiz about patterns, and the students did a great job!  We will begin learning strategies to multiply 2 and 3 digit numbers together next week.  Students should be using Moby Max nightly to practice their math facts.

We finished reading our Interactive Read Aloud, Mr. Popper's Penguins, and celebrated with a book celebration.  Students dressed in black and white and brought black and white snacks and Arctic stuffed animals.  We enjoyed drawing some Antarctic Art, and completing penguin math and logic problems - they were tricky!  We played charades and graphed our snacks, and watched a nonfiction film, March of the Penguins.  What a wonderful celebration, and a great way to spend Halloween.

We learned more and more about Mexico this week.  We made God's Eyes and sugar skull masks. The highlight was when a Kennedy parent came to teach us about the Day of the Dead, a celebration in Mexico on November 1 and 2.  Mrs. Rivera showed us how she sets up for this holiday and shared information about it.  We are very thankful to her for sharing her culture!

We continue to build our classroom community through sharing about ourselves.

Remember if you have something to share- please let Mrs. Merten know!  Check out our classmates on Halloween!
