This week spring returned! Our week was filled with learning!
We wrapped up our study of Geometry in math, and students took Math MCAS this week. Students worked hard and persevered through these two days! Our Geometry assessment is scheduled for Tuesday, and students took home a study guide this week.
We enjoyed our celebration of The One and Only Ivan Day! We began our day with "Jungle Yoga" led by Mrs. A. Williams. Then we completed some "Ivan Math" and completed some reading activities. We finger painted and colored with crayons/markers, just like Ivan did in the story as well! We also graphed our "Ivan Snacks", and played Pictionary/Charades with our fourth grade friends. After seeing our tweet, we even had a comment from Katherine Applegate through Twitter!
In science this week, students participated in a scientific investigation using toy cars and a ramp to find the relationship between energy and speed. Thanks to Mrs. E. for leading this experience! All fourth graders also began a project during PBL with Mrs. E. Williams, where they will apply their understanding. Check in with your child over the next few weeks about this project.
We finished our travels to the West Region during social studies, and presented our projects on Friday! We also had another opportunity to use Google Expeditions and our VR goggles. We explored the Gold Rush, and learned about how the miners lived. We are grateful to the Franklin Education Foundation for funding this amazing opportunity!
We continue to share our love of books through Book Talks. If your child hasn't given a Book Talk this year, I encourage them to do so! Please mention this to your child!
Our classmates have been leading our morning meetings. What a great way to show leadership!
Thank you for all of the wonderful ways I was appreciated this week!
