Our Week In Review

As usual, it was quite a week in fourth grade.  We finished our unit on Advanced Map Skills, and had our test on Tuesday.  Mrs. Merten was very impressed with the amount of studying everyone did! Students took home their tests today.  Here we are reviewing for our test on Monday.

Our 3rd math quiz was also a great success!  Your child took home an answer sheet with their math work and the test score written on it.  Incorrect answers were also marked.  The test can be viewed on the Pearson realize website.  Your child will need to log in.

Our drafts of our Narratives are coming along, and we hope to publish these by the end of next week.  We also are working on publishing our list poems.  These were typed in Google Drive, so your child may show you his/her work by logging in at home.

You can also see the awesome work the children have been doing during Technology Workshop  on Google Drive.  Our most recent project, creating a Google Slides presentation, is almost finished.  In the next few weeks, we will learn to make movies!  Stay tuned for some videos!

We are well into our Interactive Read Aloud, Mr. Popper's Penguins, and hope to finish next week.  If we are able to do so, we will have a "Black and White" day on Friday.  Keep an eye on your child's backpack for information next week.

In Science we enjoyed looking at cells using a microscope with Mrs. Williams' class.  We even had the opportunity to view pond water from right here in Franklin!

We had a fabulous visit from the Franklin Library on Wednesday.  Students were able to bring an application for a library card back to school. If your child is planning on doing this, please send it in no later than Monday.  We are looking forward to our trip to the library next week.

As you know, conferences are the first week in November.  If you would like to share information about your child, or about what you would like to discuss at conferences,  you may use this survey. Please contact Mrs. Merten with any questions.

Check out these awesome t-shirts!
